We contributed to the research of the Bach and Bannwarth groups, showcasing an efficient kinetic resolution of chiral spirocyclic oxetanes using a chiral thioxanthone catalyst, enriching one enantiomer and revealing complex reaction pathways.

We contributed to a collaboration with the teams of Bach, de Vivie-Riedle, Ochsenfeld, and Fingerhut, discovering that cyclohept-2-enone-3-carboxylic acid switches from cis- to trans-form via irradiation, and the trans-isomer leads to chiral products with up to 38% enantioselectivity.

In collaboration with the K?nig group, we explored quinones as versatile photoredox catalysts, enabling oxidative, reductive, and HAT reactions across a 5 V redox window. A great cooperation!?

As part of a great collaboration with the Gschwind and Horinek groups, we contributed to a study on aminophosphine chalcogenides, uncovering their dynamic proton-switching behavior and supramolecular self-assembly!

We contributed to a TIRF microscopy study uncovering two reaction pathways of terrylene with oxygen, one via a dark intermediate and one direct in the excited state. A fantastic joint effort with Prof. Jung's group from Saarland University!

Patrick Nuernberger presented recent advancements in the time-resolved spectroscopy of supramolecular cages and of photocatalytic systems at the Symposium on Innovation in Chemical Sciences in Zagreb.
