Seminar Announcements of the Department of Economics
For BSc Economics students (Examination Regulations from 11.08.2021), seminars must be assigned to a specialization module group (Schwerpunktmodulgruppe). In order to make this possible, the announcement and registration for all seminars at the Department of Economics that are suitable for Bachelor's students is coordinated centrally. This also applies to seminars that are open to Bachelor's and Master's students at the same time.
Please note that the announcements are always valid for the following semester, i.e. the announcements for the winter semester 2024/25 will be published at the end of the summer semester 2024, etc.
Important for Bachelor students!
In order to register for a seminar in FlexNow, you must have previously taken the course "Introduction to Academic Work" and this must be recorded as passed for you in FlexNow.
The course can be completed as an online course via GRIPS. Here you will find the link to the corresponding GRIPS course. (external link, opens in a new window)
Important notes on the course "Introduction to academic work":
- This module is a necessary requirement for registering for a seminar at a chair of the Department of Economics.
- You do not have to and cannot register for the module yourself in FlexNow; this will be done by the chair of Prof. Jerger as soon as you have completed the course.
- Of course, you can also take this module if you are planning a seminar for a later semester.
- You complete this course by watching the videos and then confirming this for each video individually with the corresponding button. The chair of Prof. Jerger will be notified automatically when you have watched all the videos. You will then receive a confirmation email from the chair.
Information on the seminar announcements
The seminar announcements are published on a joint date. The registration period in FlexNow begins on this date. The end of the registration period and the cancellation deadlines are individual and depend on the individual organisation of the individual seminars. Please refer to the text of the respective seminar announcement for these deadlines or, if in doubt, ask the examiner responsible for the seminar. Individual chairs may require pre-registration at the chair or organise introductory events before registration. The seminar announcements will inform you of any pre-registration deadlines.
The following deadlines apply to all Bachelor of Science students who wish to attend a seminar at the Department of Economics. They also apply to Master's students who wish to attend a seminar that is open to Bachelor's and Master's students at the same time.

Assignment of seminars to specialization module groups
The Department of Economics would like to ensure that at least one seminar is offered for each specialization module group in each semester. The following table shows the current planning status for the seminars in the individual specialization module groups. The Department reserves the right to make changes to this plan at any time should the staffing situation require it.
