As a research institution, the TRR374 RENPRO would like to contribute to sensitising people to the importance of diversity in science and enable its members to participate in an intercultural research context in an appreciative manner.
In this context, we understand "diversity" to mean that all TRR members, regardless of their individual characteristics (gender, sexual orientation, age, social background, nationality/ethnicity, religion), are given equal opportunities with regard to their scientific careers and that respectful cooperation is guaranteed.

The TRR374 supports the following measures in this context:

  1. Diversity and equal opportunities awareness-raising measures are organised for all TRR members as part of the regular TRR374 retreats and for young researchers in the TRR374 as part of the RENPRO summer schools.
  2. The costs for awareness-raising measures, intercultural training and workshops organised via the F3G workshop programme and the Event Series - Equity and Diversity in Academia UR are covered for TRR374 members from the equal opportunities funds.
  3. Individual coaching sessions related to gender and diversity awareness (e.g. leadership and communication in intercultural research contexts) can be organised for academics of all genders in cooperation with the F3Gconsortium and are funded by the equal opportunities funds. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact the Equal Opportunities Officer; we have provided information on the procedure for you here.

The online tutorial "Gender-sensitive appointment procedures and personnel selection at FAU" is recommended for all PIs in TRR374. This approximately one-hour online course aims to raise awareness of (unconscious) gender biases and their influence on personnel decisions and to provide support in dealing with the topic of "gender-sensitive appointment procedures and personnel selection" in a detailed and informed manner.
