The subject of the lecture is the "supply chain", i.e. the usually long route from the supplier to the consumer. There are various procurement, production, distribution, etc. along this route. However, the topic of the lecture is not the rationalisation of these "local processes", which has already been dealt with in the Bachelor lectures on procurement, production and logistics. Our topic is the endeavour to design a longer part of this chain (rarely the entire chain), be it within or between companies. Practice shows many examples where this has been successful. Theory and practice usually use the term SCM for this.

SCM is a broad field and is extensively researched academically from many perspectives. We will take up these perspectives. This is good for you: you can learn many design elements and at the same time find out which perspective you find comparatively interesting or can even imagine for a future job.

Information for foreign students on the ERASMUS programme

Students who require attendance certificates should ask the member of the teaching staff to confirm their attendance after each lecture or exercise.

Students who take part in courses and examinations will receive certificates on which grades and ECTS are noted. As it is usually not possible for foreign students to register for examinations via Flex-Now, registration is accepted at the chair's office. Information on the examinations and the registration deadlines will be announced in good time on our homepage and on the notice board in the glass case (opposite the Departmental Library of Economics).
