Course crediting from abroad at the Department of Economics
Welcome to the central contact point for the recognition of course credits from abroad within the Department of Economics!
Basic information for all
Please use the digital course planning form (external link, opens in a new window) (LUCOM). Instructions and further information (external link, opens in a new window) can be found on the website of the International Office. For getting your courses credited by Prof. Cassar, you have to enter the email address kursanrechnung-ausland.vwl(at)ur.de (opens your email program) as the recipient in the digital course planning form.
Please do not contact Prof. Cassar directly, but use the digital course planning platform and contact kursanrechnung-ausland.vwl(at)ur.de (opens your email program) if you have any questions .
Please note that the process can take up to two weeks. Many enquiries can slow down the process. No need to worry, your applications will be processed by us as soon as we receive the automated notification from the LUCOM system.
If you are completing part of your studies abroad and would like to transfer coursework and examinations completed at the host university to the UR, you should bear in mind that the recognition process begins before you leave the country.
All students of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Real Estate who wish to transfer an economics course from abroad must complete the digital course planning form in due time before departure and enter kursanrechnung-ausland.vwl(at)ur.de (opens your email program) as the recipient.
We check the recognition of courses in the free electives module group. We also contact the subject representatives responsible for courses from the compulsory module groups and supports the recognition process.

Learning Agreement
All students who spend a semester/year abroad at a European partner university as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme must create a Learning Agreement in addition to the course planning form. As soon as you have obtained all the necessary approvals in your digital course planning form, transfer the courses to the Learning Agreement (LA) and have it signed or approved by the responsible learning agreement coordinator. For European universities, you can use the International Office's search engine(MoveON4 (external link, opens in a new window)) to find out who the responsible coordinator is for your host university.
Important information for students going abroad via Erasmus+ in 2024/25
The current Erasmus+ programme generation makes digital Learning Agreements mandatory, so-called Online Learning Agreements (OLA). Many of you will therefore have to complete a digital form. In some cases, there may be technical difficulties, e.g. because the partner university does not yet provide a digital option. In this case, you will have to switch to the paper format.
The International Office will inform you in due time which version of the Learning Agreement (OLA or pdf) you need to complete.
Important information and presentations can be found on the International Office website (external link, opens in a new window).
Prof Cassar will be the LA coordinator for many economics students and some business students and will therefore sign or digitally approve the LA. In this case, please contact: kursanrechnung-ausland.vwl(at)ur.de (opens your email program)
Changes in the course programme at the start of studies at the host university
If you have to revise your course selection on site (because courses are not offered, there are time overlaps, etc.), you have to repeat the process described above.
