The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is the first academic degree in the humanities.

  • Combinatorial Bachelor's degree programme
At the University of Regensburg, most subjects in the humanities are part of a combinatorial degree programme. The degree programme usually consists of a Bachelor's subject and either a second major or two Minor Subjects.

  • Single-subject Bachelor's degree programme
There are also some Bachelor of Arts degree programmes in which only one subject is studied (German-French studies, German-Italian studies, German-Polish studies, German-Czech studies, each with an integrated stay abroad, education, studies in classical antiquity and its heritage and Southeast European studies).

Possible combinations

In the case of the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), for example, two major subjects are combined with each other or one major subject and two minor subjects (this is referred to as a combinatorial Bachelor's degree programme). Apart from a few exceptions (B.Sc. Psychology, B.A. Education, the bi-national Bachelor's degree programmes such as German-French Studies or B.A. Studies in classical antiquity and its heritage are not combined degree programmes), all subjects in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities at the University of Regensburg belong to the so-called combinatorial Bachelor's degree programme.

Please refer to the following lists to find out which subjects you can combine and how, as well as more detailed information on the programme structure.
