Registration deadlines

The course catalog is the course management system of the University of Regensburg. It can be accessed via the campus portal SPUR (external link, opens in a new window) and contains a list of all courses and offers the possibility to register for courses.

Registration deadlines and modalities:

a) Courses without participant limitation:

"Open enrolment without allocation of places"
Registration = admission
Please register by the Friday before the start of the course at the latest, as an e-mail distribution list will then be created for messages concerning the course.

b) Courses with a limited number of participants:

Please enrol during the enrolment periods indicated for each course.
Note: For courses with several dates (parallel events) to choose from, priorities must be distributed across all parallel events/dates so that the system can take your priorities into account and increase your chances of getting a place in your favourite event.

It does not matterwhen you register for a course within the respective period. Places are only allocated/admitted after the end of the respective registration phase (and also to the e-mail distribution list, see above). If there are more interested parties than places, an automatic lottery procedure will decide.

If there are still places available after the first enrolment phase, new enrolment phases will be allocated to the courses again, where places will be allocated immediately on a first-come, first-served basis. If not, you will be placed on a waiting list and will move up as soon as places become available again. Please therefore cancel your registration immediately if you are unable to take part in an event! Important: Interested parties who did not get a place in the first registration phase do not automatically end up on the waiting list for the second phase, but must register again. In exceptional cases, after the end of the registration phases or after the start of the course, it is possible for lecturers to register subsequently in order to be included in the e-mail distribution list.

c) Cancellations are possible at any time during and after all registration phases.

Fairness!
Please only register for an event if you are really interested in the course. And please also cancel your registration if you are unable to attend. Only then will those on the waiting list have a chance of getting a place on the course.

d) Registration process via the course catalogues

In the course catalog, the courses are sorted by degree programme or degree. You can find the information science courses under:

• Bachelor of Arts (Multi-Subject Bachelor) -> Information Science
• Master of Arts -> Information Science
• Master of Science → Human-Centred AI

To register for a course, select the button for enrolment (brown door with green arrow) in the list of course overviews on the right, or the "Registration" button at the top right of the page for the respective course. Then follow the instructions and confirm your selection. If there is no registration button available for your desired course, make sure you know the registration period, i.e. whether the deadline for registration is still to begin or has already expired. Your selected courses can then be found in SPUR under

• My studies -> Enrolments
• My studies -> Timetable

to find them. You can also check your enrolment status there.

To avoid any misunderstandings, we would like to expressly point out that course registrations via the course catalogues have nothing to do with the additional registrations required for the respective examinations via FlexNow. Course registrations via the course catalogues are required separately for participant administration.

FlexNow is the examination management system of the University of Regensburg.
Students on Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes must register for course assessments (whether oral or written examinations, exercises, seminar or project work) via the FlexNow (external link, opens in a new window) examination management system within set deadlines (usually from around the 8th week after the start of lectures).

You will find the exact details of the individual examinations (FlexNow registration and cancellation time, date, time, location, etc.) no later than 6 weeks after the start of lectures in the course catalog (EXA) under the details of the respective courses under "Examination information" and "Proof of performance".

Please note the registration and cancellation deadlines. Subsequent enrolment or deregistration is not possible!
