The lettering "Kolonialwarenhandlung" on the fa?ade of a house and the chocolate ambassador wearing cute plush pants are often interpreted as nostalgic symbols. However, they are shadows of a colonial past that haunt everyday life as images or concepts, revealing the historical and contemporary presence of postcolonial realities.
From July 24 to 27, early career scholars explored the seemingly banal everydayness of colonialist worldviews in Regensburg and discussed how they can be reflected upon and negotiated.
