Subjects Offered at UR

What degrees are offered at UR?

At the University of Regensburg, you can choose between approximately 158 fields of study, from archaeology and nanoscience to medicine or economics.

The Bachelor's and Master's degree programs are modularized, which means that they consist of study modules. The 'European Credit Transfer System' (ECTS) has been introduced in these courses. A state examination program usually takes longer and is regulated uniformly throughout the country (not internationally).

Bachelor's Degree Programs

The Bachelor's degree is the first academic degree with which a scientific study program can be completed after usually six semesters (= 3 years). In addition, it is a first professional qualification. A distinction is made between the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and the Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.). With the B.Sc., only one subject is studied.

With the B.A., either one major subject and two minor subjects or two majors are studied.
