Accommodation
Exchange students can apply for a room in one of the student residences using the online application form. The residences are spread across the city and have good bus connections to the campus.
As a rule, the International Office can reserve a room for all exchange students who apply for a room within the application deadlines. However, students cannot choose their own rooms. Rooms are allocated by the International Office according to capacity and student preferences.
We recommend that exchange students apply for a room in one of the student residences through the International Office at the University of Regensburg. As the housing market in Regensburg is tight, it can be very difficult for students to find suitable accommodation on the private market (e.g., real estate agent fees, unfavorable rental periods, high monthly rents, unfurnished accommodation, etc.).

Accommodation on the private housing market

Students who are nominated too late or submit their documents after the deadline can usually no longer be allocated a room in a student residence via the IO. This also applies to students who only come to Regensburg for a short time (shorter than a semester) or outside the regular semester periods.
These students must look for a room on the private housing market themselves.
