Can trainees be enrolled at the University of Regensburg?

Enrolment During the Traineeship

Trainees are enrolled at the University of Regensburg as non-degree seeking students. During the traineeship you must continue to be enrolled at your home university.

The semester fee for enrolment is currently around €200.


Which Documents must be Submitted for Enrolment?

  • Online application for enrolment (you will receive the link to the online application form on request from the International Office)
  • Scan of your passport / identity card
  • Profile photo for the student ID card
  • Certificate of enrolment from your home university
  • Traineeship contract/ ERASMUS Traineeship Agreement
  • Written confirmation from the traineeship supervisor
  • Transcript of Records (overview of previous academic achievements at the home university)
  • Proof of health insurance (e.g. statutory health insurance, European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), AT-11, recognised private insurance, etc.)
  • Language certificate, if applicable

The Student ID Card: UR Card

After enrolment you will receive a UR card, which includes the following benefits:

  • Official status as a student of the University of Regensburg
  • Semester ticket for local public transport
  • Cashless payment in the canteen and the cafeterias of the Studentenwerk
  • Library card
  • Accident insurance through the University of Regensburg
  • Top-up of the printer / photocopier account
