Important notes

Funding of an entire degree programme with scholarships is rarely possible.

In some cases, scholarships are awarded by German scholarship organisations in the home countries. Information on this can be obtained from the German embassy and German cultural institutes in your home country, such as the Goethe Institut or DAAD branch offices.

Some foundations only award scholarships to advanced students, in some cases only to graduates.

Deutschlandstipendium (German public-private scholarship)

With the national scholarship program "Deutschlandstipendium", the Federal Government has developed a new funding instrument for students.

Half of the program is financed by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space while the other half is funded by private donors. The scholarships amount to €300 per month and are awarded for at least one year.

The scholarships are awarded to particularly high-achieving and capable students who perform outstandingly well or whose career to date indicates particularly good academic and professional performance.

The University of Regensburg awards Germany Scholarships to talented students. The scholarships are awarded once a year in the winter semester.
